Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions shop owners ask most about the French reform. Each answer links to the page with the details. Belgian questions are answered in the Belgium FAQ.

How do I comply with the French e-invoicing reform on PrestaShop?

You need structured invoices, a Plateforme Agréée to send them through, and a way to receive supplier invoices. PrestaShop on its own provides none of these.

What the reform requiresHow you cover it
Issue structured invoices to French businessesThe module builds them from your orders
Send them through a Plateforme AgrééeThe module sends them to SUPER PDP, or to a platform offering the AFNOR API
Receive supplier invoicesYour platform account. The module only sends
E-report sales to consumers and foreign businessesThe module sends the required data to your connected Plateforme Agréée

All companies must be able to receive e-invoices from 1 September 2026. The obligation to issue starts on 1 September 2026 for large companies and ETI, and on 1 September 2027 for SMEs and micro-enterprises. See France Regulations for which sales are covered.

To set up sending, see SUPER PDP Integration or AFNOR API Integration.

Does PrestaShop support Factur-X?

Not out of the box. PrestaShop generates invoices as PDFs, which are not valid for the reform.

The module adds two Factur-X formats:

FormatWhat it is
Hybrid Factur-XA PDF/A-3 file with the CII XML data embedded, readable by people and software
CII Factur-XThe CII XML data on its own

Factur-X is one of the three formats every French Plateforme Agréée must accept. Both variants also work for Chorus Pro, the platform for invoices to French public bodies. See E-Invoice Formats.

What is a Plateforme Agréée and do I need one?

A Plateforme Agréée (PA) is a platform registered by the French tax administration to exchange e-invoices between businesses. It was previously called Plateforme de Dématérialisation Partenaire (PDP). It sends your invoices, receives the ones addressed to you, converts between formats, and reports the required data to the administration.

Your situationDo you need one?
A French company selling to French businessesYes, to issue invoices and to receive them
A French company selling only to consumersYes, to receive supplier invoices and to file e-reporting
A Belgian company selling in BelgiumNo. Belgium uses Peppol access points, see the Belgium FAQ

A software vendor or service provider can sit between you and the platform, but it must connect to a Plateforme Agréée. It cannot deliver invoices on its own.

The module connects to your own platform account with your own credentials, so you pay the platform directly. SUPER PDP is supported today, and it is also a Peppol access point. See France Regulations for how invoices are transmitted.
