Belgium FAQ
Short answers to the questions Belgian shop owners ask most about e-invoicing with PrestaShop E-Invoicing. Each answer links to the page with the details.
How do I comply with the Belgian e-invoicing obligation on PrestaShop?
You need structured invoices, a Peppol access point to send them through, and a way to receive supplier invoices. PrestaShop on its own provides none of these.
| What the obligation requires | How you cover it |
|---|---|
| Create e-invoices for Belgian businesses | The module builds them in Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 from your orders |
| Send them over the Peppol network | The module sends them to your account at SUPER PDP, a Peppol access point |
| Receive supplier invoices | Your access point account. The module only sends |
The obligation applies to all Belgian businesses since 1 January 2026, whatever their size. See Belgium Regulations for which sales are covered.
How do I send Peppol invoices from PrestaShop?
The module generates a Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoice from every order. It identifies you and your customer on the Peppol network by the VAT numbers in your seller and buyer configuration.
The module sends the invoice to your SUPER PDP account. SUPER PDP is your Peppol access point: it looks up your customer in the Peppol directory and delivers the invoice to your customer’s access point. You can also download the file, export it in bulk, or push it over FTP.
What is a Peppol access point and do I need one?
A Peppol access point is a service provider that sends and receives invoices on the Peppol network. Every business on the network has one. Your access point delivers your invoices to your customer’s access point, and receives the invoices addressed to you.
| Your situation | Do you need one? |
|---|---|
| You sell to Belgian businesses | Yes, to send invoices and to receive them |
| You sell only to consumers | Yes, to receive your suppliers’ invoices |
The module connects to your own SUPER PDP account with your own credentials, so you pay the access point directly.
Do I have to send e-invoices to consumers?
No. Sales to consumers are outside the Belgian obligation. You can keep sending them your usual invoice. See Belgium Regulations.
Which format do Belgian e-invoices use?
Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, a UBL XML format that conforms to the European standard EN 16931. The Peppol network carries invoices in this format. See Belgium E-Invoice Format.
