Introduction

Prestashop E-invoicing 2026 turns the invoices your shop already produces into structured electronic invoices that other companies, accounting systems and tax authorities can read automatically, without leaving your PrestaShop back office.

The problem it solves

PrestaShop generates invoices as PDFs. A PDF is a picture of an invoice: a person can read it, but the software on the other end cannot. It has no reliable way to know which number is the total, which is the VAT, or who the buyer is.

An electronic invoice is the opposite. It is a structured file, built to a published standard, where every value sits in a defined field. Your customer’s accounting system can book it without anyone re-typing anything.

Two things make this urgent rather than merely useful:

  1. Regulation. Following the EU’s push towards structured invoicing, France and Belgium are introducing e-invoicing obligations for business to business trade in 2026. Whether and when they apply to you depends on your country and your company, but where they do apply, a PDF no longer counts as an invoice.
  2. Your buyers. Public bodies and larger companies increasingly refuse anything else, often well ahead of the legal deadline.

PrestaShop does not do this out of the box, and it is not on the core roadmap. That gap is what this module fills.
